About us
Tradition
‘Kopschitz Kerzen’ has been the embodiment of a traditional family business for over 200 years. Founded in 1810 in Sudetenland (a native German-speaking region of the current Czech Republic), the official registration of the candle-factory ‘Kopschitz’ took place over a hundred years later in Opava, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
In the earliest years of the business, Eduard Richard Kopschitz and his children produced ‘Lebkuchen’ and other confectionary as well as candles.
After the Second World War the Kopschitz family made Rotthalmünster in Lower-Bavaria their new home.
Since 2013 the business has been jointly-managed by the fifth generation of the family: the brothers Dr. Alexander Kopschitz and Dipl.-Ing. Christian Kopschitz, MBA.
